Let’s begin the new year by taking some time to look ahead and think about how our designed world might change over the next 359 days….
Design trends are highly influenced by the mood of our country, our culture, our economy. We are finally starting to see some light at the end of the long, dark tunnel that was the economic turmoil of the past two years. As a result, the design world is starting to see a certain sparkle that wasn’t there before.
STARTING WITH COLOR
Pantone has officially named HONEYSUCKLE (18-2120) its 2011 “Color of the Year”. This wonderfully exuberent pink expresses optimism and vitality while keeping one foot firmly on the ground. This year, be prepared to see this color and variations of it in a multitude of home and contract design applications.
Now, before coming up with all those snap judgements of what we’ve been taught pink is, let’s take a look at some examples:
